Where a statement in a bundle refers to a document with an exhibit mark or other distinctive reference it should be hyperlinked but hyperlinks do not help hardcopy users. Hardcopy users can, of course, identify the page number of documents which are referred to in statements by looking up the exhibit mark or other distinctive reference in the Index or bookmarks pane but ideally an easier and quicker method of finding the page number of documents referred to in statements should also be provided to assist users of the hardcopy. One method is to add the target page number to the right hand margin on each statement opposite each distinctive reference. This is probably the best method but takes time to do. An alternative method is to use PDF software to add a page after each statement listing each link with its target page number. This method saves time but is not quite so good because the list is not actually on the same page as the statement it relates to. Also it only lists links - so generally only exhibits or other distinctive references which can be automatically hyperlinked (you could manually add links for referred-to documents which cannot be hyperlinked automatically but then the method loses the advantage of saving time).
So this method has its disadvantages but if you do decide to use this method, this is an example of how to do it using the Bundledocs system as an example:-
In Bundledocs or eBreif Ready, add a document containing a single blank page named PAGE NUMBER LIST OF DOCUMENTS REFERRED TO IN ABOVE STATEMENT after every statement.
Generate a bundle PDF.
Open the PDF with PDF X-Change Editor and automatically apply hyperlinks.
in the Links pane select the links in the first statement.
Choose Export Links to CSV file and in the panel tick Title, Placement Page, Export Links Actions, Export Page that link points to, Resolve named destinations to page numbers
Open the CSV file, adjust the columns and headings as necessary and replace all of goto: with can be found on page is on page
Save the CSV file as an Excel file and load it to Bundledocs replacing the blank document after the first statement.
Repeat the above process for every other statement.
Each Excel file you have loaded should be a single page. If, exceptionally, any of the Excel files is more than one page then many of the page numbers in each loaded Excel file will no longer be correct (because loading a text file of more than one page in replacement of a single-page document alters the page numbers of documents referred to which are located after it) so in that case you need to regenerate the PDF and redo the above process replacing each of the Excel files which follow each statement.
Generate a bundle PDF.
