How to save selected emails from Gmail into an MBOX is described below.
If you are using an online email system other than Gmail, such as Yahoo or Hotmail you can import emails into a Gmail account so that you can then save them as described here. If you have some emails only on your device - for example if you are using the POP system and emails are deleted from your online server once they have been downloaded to the email app on your device, one way of saving copies of the emails is to create a Gmail account in your email app, and then, within your app, copy the emails to be saved to a folder in the Gmail account. The emails will then appear in Gmail from where you can save them using the procedure below. Note that Gmail servers are generally located outside the United Kingdom where different data protection standards may apply. You do not want to save all your emails in the MBOX - only those emails which relate to the matter you are seeking advice about, so as part of the process of creating the MBOX you should select the relevant Gmail labels as shown in the example below
