Don't Rename Photos

Digital photos (jpg) and videos (e.g. mp4) should be provided "as is" and should not be renamed. 

If you would like to provide a note about a particular photograph or video - for example a note pointing to some feature in the photo or video the significance of which may not be immediately obvious - don't add that note to the file name of the jpg or mp4: leave the file name as it is. Instead create a Word document or a spreadsheet with a line for each photo or video you wish to comment on, giving the the date and time the photo was taken followed by your comment. In the case of a video state how many minutes and seconds into the video the feature you are commenting on appears. 

When complete, email the Word document or spreadsheet to me.
